There you go! Oren Ginzburg, Hungry Man Books (2005) - Laura Hughes

There you go

There you go

This book really hits the spot. "There You Go!" is a cartoon satire of 20th century colonialism, forcing 'development' onto indigenous communities. It depicts the outcomes of a blind agenda to bring development to a group of tribal people who have little need to or interest in being 'developed', and the smug interlopers who think they know what's best.

In just twenty delightful pages and a few hundred words, this short story gets to the heart of issues of tribal disenfranchisement and exploitation for natural resources, all sugar-coated by the culprits as Development Initiatives.
