Frankie Rushton, 5 month Volunteer 2010-11, Seva Mandir, Udaipur

After returning from India Frankie spent four months interning as a Research Assistant with the Foreign Policy Center, a prominent independent think tank. She is now working as an Account Executive for a design agency in London and is this year's Development Education Officer. 

Sarah Burns, 5 month Volunteer 2010-11, Seva Mandir, Udaipur

Following her time in India Sarah travelled to Nepal and completed a three month internship with Partnership for Sustainable Development. Sarah is currently working as a Fundraising Intern with Project African Wilderness Trust and is Secretary to this year's Committee.    

Anna Loosley, Summer Volunteer 2010, Seva Mandir, Udaipur

Anna is currently working for a housing and social care organisation that supports unaccompanied asylum seekers and children leaving care in Birmingham. 

Jamie Pett, Summer Volunteer 2010, St Gonsalo Garcia Ashram, Vasai

Rachael Harrison, Summer Volunteer 2010,  Sharana, Pondicherry

Rachael works for the RNID teaching life skills to deaf adults with learning disabilities. Rachael has been DiA's UK Volunteering Officer since 2010. 

Kate Unsworth, Summer Volunteer 2010, Volontariat, Pondicherry

Kate is working for a small sustainability consultancy called Good Business. The company works with a range of organisations - from Coca Cola to Orange to Fiat - in helping them be more sustainable across the environmental and social spectrum. 

Jessie Kirk, 5 month Volunteer 2009-2010, Volontariat, Pondicherry

Jessie works for the British Red Cross in Major Donor Fundraising and was Development Education Officer for the 2010-11 DiA Committee. Jessie is now DiA's UK Volunteer Programme Manager. 

Kate Warburton, 5 month Volunteer 2009-2010, Sharana, Pondicherry

Kate works for Barnardo's Young Women's Project and was Secretary to the 2010-11 DiA Committee.  

Roshni Mehta, 5 month Volunteer 2009-2010, Deep Griha Society, Pune

Roshni works for the National Deaf Children's Society as their Corporate and Events Executive. Roshni was Fundraising Officer for the 2010-11 DiA Committee.

Will Jones, Summer Volunteer 2009, St Gonsalo Garcia Ashram, Vasai

Will graduated from the University of Warwick, trained as a Broadcast Journalist at Cardiff University and is now working in New York. Will was Blog Officer for the 2010-11 DiA Committee. 

Francesca Morgante, Summer Volunteer 2009, Seva Mandir, Udaipur

Francesca graduated from the University of Warwick in 2010 and spent the following summer carrying out a research project in Kenya on the impact of the flower industry on the sustainable development of Kenyan communities. Francesca has just completed an MSc in Development, Administration and Planning from UCL.

Joe Mitchell, Summer Volunteer 2009, St Gonsalo Garcia Ashram, Vasai

Joe works for Single Homeless Project, a London based homelessness charity and is Fundraising Officer for this year's Committee.

Harriet Swann, Summer Volunteer 2009, Volontariat, Pondicherry

Harriet graduated from Sussex University and since August 2010 has been teaching English in Japan on the JET Programme. Harriet was a member of the 2009-10 DiA Committee.  

Kate Evans, 5 month Volunteer 2009-2010, Deep Griha Society, Pune

Kate is currently the Marketing Officer for Compton Verney Art Gallery and was UK Volunteer Support Officer for the 2010-11 DiA Committee.

Priya Patel, 5 month Volunteer 2008-2009, Barli Development Institute for Rural Women, Indore

Priya works for the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women and is studying for a Masters in International Development. Priya was Communications Officer for the 2009-10 DiA Committee. 

Anna Burton, 5 month Volunteer 2008-2009, Barli Development Institute for Rural Women, Indore

Anna works for READ International and is a Trustee for the Young Achiever's Trust. Anna was Secretary to the 2009-10 DiA Committee and is now Committee Chair.

Kirsty Wilmot (Walton), 5 month Volunteer 2006-2007, Sharana, Pondicherry

After various roles in the UK parliament, Kirsty is now studying for an MSc in Ecology. Kirsty was Magazine Officer for the DiA Committee from 2007-08, where she met the former Magazine Editor Tom Wilmot. Kirsty and Tom married in 2009 and now live in Suffolk, where Kirsty works for a District Council, advising residents on energy efficiency and delivering insulation schemes.

Katie Boswell, 5 month volunteer 2006-07, Seva Mandir, Udaipur

After returning from India Katie worked as a public policy consultant in London for three years before becoming Behaviour Change Programme Coordinator at London Sustainability Exchange. Katie now lives in California and is studying for a Masters in Development Management alongside undertaking two internships with One World Children's Fund and Sociometrics.

Katie Hill, Summer Volunteer 2006, Seva Mandir, Udaipur

After her time in India and her role as Development Education Officer, Katie's year as DiA's UK Coordinator provided her with the invaluable volunteer management experience to gain a role as Volunteer Coordinator at International Development charity,Tzedek. DiA's development education ethos stayed with her and Katie is now a Secondary RE Teacher in Hertford.

Tom Grundy, Summer Volunteer 2003, DEEDS, Bangalore

"My time volunteering through Development in Action was definitely a formative and meaningful period for me which led to further travels and teaching projects around Asia. I've now lived in Hong Kong for 6 years and teach in a government school. I remained in touch with my DiA partner project, built them a website and returned last summer to Tamil Nadu where I witnessed great progress in the communities I once volunteered in. DiA remains the only fully-transparent, ex-volunteer led non profit project of its kind and I can't recommend the experience enough!"

Leah Waters, 5 month Volunteer 2001-02, Barli Development Institute for Rural Women, Indore

After volunteering with DiA in India, Leah took roles on the Committee and as DiA's UK Coordinator, becoming a Trustee of the charity in 2007. On return from her volunteer experience, which included her first experiences of fundraising, Leah completed a masters degree and started work as a fundraiser for a London based social development charity. After a number of successful fundraising roles, Leah is now Director of Fundraising at the national charity, Youth Music.
