New Trustee - Development in Action has a new trustee! Jen Hawkins works for a financial accounting firm and is studying for her ACA qualification. She holds a degree in Geography from Cambridge University and has travelled in India. Her volunteer experience includes a charity expedition to Ecuador. Jen's financial expertise, enthusiasm and energy are going to make her an excellent addition to the team. 

 

IVCs Return to UK - Welcome home to DiA’s 2008-09 IVCs Ruth and Emma who have returned to the UK for Christmas after 6 months working for DiA in India. Both IVCs have done an excellent job and the Committee wish to thank them for their persistent hard work and motivation. Emma will be returning to India in January for a further months work focusing on researching new placements and supporting our current Volunteers in their last month. 

 

UK Volunteering - The Cambridge DiA Volunteer Group have been working hard delivering an 'Ethical Volunteering Overseas'  workshop to a local sixth form group and facilitating a volunteering debate at Cambridge University. The group are looking for more volunteers to join them and will be holding a training day on 10th January 2010. DiA in Action! - On Saturday 5th December 2009, Development in Action marched through London in support of a safe climate future for everyone. 'The Wave' took place ahead of crucial international talks, taking place this fortnight in Copenhagen, on how to tackle climate change.
