‘Warehoused’ Documentary Screening at SOAS
In November 2017, in partnership with SOAS Solidarity with Refugees Society, we held a screening of the documentary ‘Warehoused’, about the (then) largest refugee camp in the world – Dadaab, Kenya. It was followed by an interesting panel discussion with Dr Tania Kaiser, Senior Lecturer in Forced Migration Studies, SOAS, and Moulid Hujale, journalist and former resident at Dadaab. A collection held at the end of the screening raised almost £60 for DiA. Thank you to all those who attended and we hope to hold similar events in the future.
Virtual Run 2017
In May 2017, a group of Development in Action’s supporters chose to run or cycle, wherever they happened to be, to raise money to support our work. They raised an amazing total of £1,470! Check out the video below:
DiA at the Young Funding Network
In January, DiA were invited to take part in a live crowdfunding event organised by the Young Funding Network at the London School of Economics, aimed at bringing young people together to have fun and help make the world a better place.
Our Chair and Vice-Chair spoke passionately about the work of DiA and we were able to raise over £1,000 to continue our work in the UK and India. Overall, it was a fantastic event and you can see photos below:
