Shefali joined DiA in 2017 and has a background in science communications within both the UK and international charity sectors. She is passionate about advocating for change and is working towards building a career in gender policy. Her masters thesis investigated how far conditional aid programmes in Latin America and Africa can be empowering for women.
Shefali completed an MSc in Globalisation and Development at SOAS and has since spent time teaching English in China, carrying out research in rural Kolkata with UNICEF India, and managing research communications at Marie Stopes International and Marie Curie respectively. Shefali is Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at The British Academy.
