Development education by young people for young people

How much does it cost?

DiA is a UK-registered charity, run by dedicated volunteers and 2 part-time co-ordinators. If you wish to take part in a DiA placement, you will need to fundraise the following amounts. (i.e. raised as donations from other people through sporting events or other endeavours).

2-month placement minimum amount to be fundraised: £660

5-month placement minimum amount to be fundraised: £1,210

Anyone accepted onto a 2-month or 5-month DiA placement will need to pay a deposit of £100 within one week to confirm their place.

These minimum fundraised contributions go towards the running of the volunteer placement scheme. Any funds raised above and beyond this will be directed towards our vital Development Education work in the UK.

We will provide assistance to you in fundraising, including literature and possible sources of funding. For loads of ideas and to begin thinking about how to fundraise, please take a look at our Placement Fundraising page. Further assistance will be provided once you are accepted for a placement.

How will the money I fundraise be used?
