Emily joined Development in Action as a trustee in March 2016. She will specifically be supporting the global citizenship education work in the UK.
Emily has an MSc in Global Politics from the London School of Economics and 10 years experience in international development advocacy and campaign work. In 2016 she led the World’s Largest Lesson, a global initiative to teach children around the world about the new Global Goals for Sustainable Development. Working with more than 100 Ministries of Education the initiative reached more than 500 million children with lessons and information about the goals and the issues underpinning them.
Emily also previously led the advocacy work for the global Because I am a Girl campaign, run by Plan International. She also advised Gordon Brown in his position as Special Envoy for Global Education, which included having a leading role in Malala Day at the United Nations.
